Chalkhouse Green Rd, Kidmore End, Reading RG4 9AS, UK – 0118 972 1849
My daughter attended chalkhouse nursery from the age of 9 months until she started school. Chalkhouse is an excellent nursery. The 'home from home' setting is great for various ages. They have a lovely garden, which is well used. The nursery is surrounded by lovely views, with my little one getting very excited when we pulled up in the car each morning, as she saw various farm animals in the nearby field. They prepare the children for school very well to ensure a smooth transition between nursery and reception. Care for the younger ones is excellent & is like leaving them with a childminder rather than a in a nursery due to the high staff ratio. Lucy & her team are amazing, always friendly and I always felt able to raise any queries with them. I would highly recommend this nursery.

They do lot of activities and keep parents informed about week's schedule in advance.
Rose Hill Farm, Peppard Rd, Reading RG4 8XD, UK – 0118 947 2496
I came here for a few lessons as a complete novice adult rider. It is one of the few places that can cater for people over 12 stone in weight in the area and is very reasonably priced for lessons. It may not have the best appearance but the horses all appeared in good health with nice friendly staff.
Brilliant place - highly recommended. Real attention to details despite initial appearances
21 South St, Reading RG1 4QU, UK – 0118 960 6060
Nice local arts venue. Only downside was that it got very hot in the auditorium. Apart from that, great night out.
A fantastic little venue - you can see some top notch comedians here, but book early. You can park on the street close by, easily, with meter parking. You'll need to pay for a ticket up until 8pm. It's also only a 5 minute walk to the main shopping centre, so you can head in early and eat beforehand.
39 Friar St, Reading RG1 1DX, UK – 0118 959 6865
I've been a member for 2 weeks and have attended 6 times. Afrina the manager is great, she is friendly and supportive but also pushes you to get a good workout. Exercises are interesting and varied, today we flipped a massive tyre. I tend to go around 7.45 AM - it is usually nice and quiet at this time.
St Andrews Church Hall, Albert Rd, Reading RG4 7BT, UK – 0118 946 2147
This is a local church hall which provides local social services (preschool classes etc) and church related activities. They do a great afternoon tea with homemade cakes, but check which days! My usual visits are for our blood donations service, which has a regular slot here over the several events of the year.
Great church and a really nice coffee shop and friendly members and messy and alpha is good for children that are young and older.
Blagrave St, Reading RG1 1QH, UK – 0118 937 3400
Lovely old fashioned Victorian Town Hall with good sized auditorium. Museum also worth a visit.
You have to come here just to see the remarkable full replica of the Bayeux Tapestry. It fills the whole of the first floor.
